Un-Becoming: The Path to Wholeness
Sunday, 30 August 2026 at 11:00am
What if healing means growing more fully into who God created us to be? On Sunday, August 30th we'll explore the transformative healing that happens when we let go of labels, wounds, and fears that hold us back—drawing on the biblical story of a woman healed by faith in Jesus, and the wisdom of author Paulo Coelho on un-becoming everything that isn't really us. Join us to reflect on healing and belonging, and discover the grace that makes space for all of us at God's table. Come as you are – you are welcome here!
Pastoral Staff - Embrace United Church of Christ
PASTOR - Reverend Yinessa ROMERO
In December 2025, members of Embrace United Church of Christ in Hurst, Texas joyfully called Reverend Yinessa Romero to become our Designated-Term Pastor. Rev. Yinessa began serving as pulpit supply at Embrace UCC in September 2025, following the retirement of Rev. Ken Ehrke in May 2024.
Rev. Yinessa previously served as a minister in the United Church of Christ and a leader in Latinx ministry and advocacy for over 7 years. She serves with the Colectivo de Latinx Ministries, where she currently holds a national leadership role as Moderator. Rev. Yinessa previously ministered with the Latinx congregation at Cathedral of Hope UCC in Dallas, Texas, and has also served as a hospice chaplain, offering compassionate spiritual care.
Originally from the Dominican Republic, Rev. Yinessa brings a multicultural and bilingual perspective to her ministry, focusing on inclusion, justice, and building bridges across cultures. Her work reflects a deep commitment to LGBTQIA+ inclusion, immigrant communities, and the transformative power of God’s unconditional love.
