Jesus Loves Labor Day!
Sunday, 6 September 2026 at 11:00am
Labor Day celebrates working people discovering their collective power to demand justice and dignity—the same vision at the heart of Jesus's ministry. This Sunday, we'll ask: What becomes possible when we unite? How do we confront injustice, repair what's broken, and make room for those society abandons? Through Matthew 18, Liberation Theology, and the challenges of AI, we'll explore what we can achieve together. Join us at 11 AM. When we stand united, we never stand alone. Come as you are – you are welcome here!
Every Day Signs — Reminders of Compassion
In September 2026, Embrace UCC launched the Every Day Signs initiative, and two hundred yard signs are now being distributed across the Mid-Cities—visible reminders that kindness, justice, and peace aren't distant dreams. They're practices we can live out, together, every single day.
What Are Every Day Signs?
Rooted in wisdom from faith traditions worldwide—including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, and Native American spirituality—these signs distill spiritual truth into five practices we can all embody:
-
Be Kind to Everyone
-
Live Simply, Share Freely
-
Protect Life, Fight for Justice
-
Listen, Learn, and Build Community
-
Find Peace, Make Peace
They're conversation starters in your neighborhood. Personal pledges on your lawn. Beacons of hope reminding us that love changes everything.
Where You'll Find Them
Our signs are appearing in yards, community centers, churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, and gathering spaces throughout the Mid-Cities. See one? Take a photo and share it. Better yet, display one yourself—and help us spread this vision even further.

Want a sign for your yard? Know a neighborhood or community space that needs one? Contact us to request a sign or learn how you can help distribute them at community celebrations, Pride events, and neighborhood associations throughout 2027.
Together, we're proving that love changes everything—in our yards, in our streets, in our hearts.
