It has been a busy fall for Embrace UCC. On September 19 we met with the North Texas Association Committee on Ministry in West, TX and were approved to go forward to become an independent church. On October 17 at the North Texas Association meeting in Carrollton, TX we were voted into the association. On November 15 we held an official installation service at the Old Bedford School with many friends from the North Texas Association present to help make it all official. This is the day we officially became Embrace UCC.
We have been working behind the scenes to prepare for the transition of administrative duties and financial bookkeeping on January 1, 2016. We have our own non-profilt entity with the Secretary of State, have become a Tax-Exempt group, filed for our own EIN number, purchased bookkeeping computer, printer and software, have a new logo, and webstie, media platforms and presence in the community as Embrace UCC.
This is all behind the scenes. In daily life we have been busy making sure 25 teens and families of clients at Aids Outreach Center have Christmas gives, collected gifts for the Bedford Fire Department toy drive, working at the Tarrant Area Food Bank and collecting food for Mission Center in Hurst.
Our new parents education class is a great hit with several families coming together on Sundays to study and support one another. They also have gathered for potlucks and fellowship time. We have had football and ugly sweater parties and love to get together and just have fun.
