Embracing a New Church Name
It has been an exciting spring for our congregation. We have been working through our check list of things that have to be completed as we move towards being an Independent UCC congregation.
Two big things were accomplished at our June 14 Congregation Meeting.
1. We approved our first set of by-laws
2. We unanimously approved the recommendation for our new church name. We will be EMBRACE United Church of Christ - once we complete the processes for being a UCC church.
Our rebranding team worked through a careful process to find that name that truly "embraces" and says who we are as a community. The name was well received and embraced! You can view the reveal video presentation on our facebook page.
The congregation meeting also approved our budget, elected Melondy Doddy to our leadership team and approved a change in Sunday morning schedule -- beginning Sunday, August 30. We will have Choir, meetings and classes at 8:45-9:45am; Worship 10:00-11:15am, Education Classes 11:30am-12:15pm.
This change in schedule gives us better use of the rental space by adding options for classes and meetings after worship.
Our congregation celebrates the work of our Service Group. These folks work once a month sorting food at Tarrant Area Food Bank -- The last two months we have had 12 and 17 workers.
