What an exciting year for Embrace UCC
The dream of having our own worship space has become a reality. Taking on the monthly rent, utilities, internet, extra insurance is a big step of faith for our community. We got possession June 21 and thanks to teachers on summer break becoming busy bee workers, the next 10 days were filled with carpet cleaning, windows and walls scrubbed down, painting the lobby, kitchen and restrooms and lots of other repairs. We shopped for bargain furnishings and within a couple weeks - we are moved in and feeling like this has been our home forever.
A big thanks to those who have kept us going by having "church in the trunk" while we were at the Boy's Ranch. Eight people carried in all that we needed each week and then packed it back to their cars. I especially highlight Larissa who brought her keyboard, guitar, amp, stand and stool and Michael who brought all the hospitality supplies.
As your pastor, I am delighted to have an office space that is more suited to pastoral conversations and time with those who need support. Call and make an appointment with me.
We are excited to see the roll out of the new children's education program. Thanks to the parents who rotate Sundays and provide exciting activities and songs as our children learn the basics of our faith.
We are planning to offer more education and fellowship opportunities beginning in September. If you have ideas about things that would be of interest and offer spiritual growth and community building - let us know.
We have some fun events planned for August and September -- one being the S.P.I.T. (Spiritual Parents in Training) group back to school pool party on August 19. We have invited families from Promise UCC in Dallas to join us for this fun filled potluck and time of celebrating a great summer.
Come join us as we enter into this new chapter of our congregation's life and mission.
